Top 5 Sims 3 Store Worlds - in my opinion...

11 store worlds so far. Each one is different in it's own way but some are more playable and enjoyable than others. In this post I countdown the 5 best store worlds and give my thoughts on each one. Hope you enjoy!

5. Midnight Hollow... It seems a bit shocking to be on this list as many seemed to not like Midnight Hollow. A very dark and mysterious place, I found it to be the perfect world to play with all my supernatural or just super-weird sims. I like this world because it reminds me of a Tim Burton movie. I loved the Golden Ticket Toy shop and the fact that the world included The Savvy Seller's Collection. The world was also very well designed and very detailed. I grew used to the permanent darkness but I couldn't seem to play in it for very long.

4. Monte Vista... An old Italian themed world. You can almost smell the freshly baked pizza and breads from the premium content Wood Fire Oven. The world is breathtaking. The theme is well thought out and well stuck to. The famous Monty family from Sims 2 made a return in this world. The world is perfect for your farmer or nectar-making sim. With the addition of the Al Fresco Street Market, this makes for a perfect simple farming village. As I said before, the world is beautiful but it felt as if my sim was on vacation and I kept wanting to send my sim home to a normal world after a while because I ran out of things to do.

ROARING HEIGHTS REVIEW!

I got Roaring Heights the minute it came out. I started a review that very same night but  felt like I didn't do it justice because I had only played for a few hours. One vacation and a couple of very lazy days later and I finally completed the review. This is Roaring Heights, the 11th Sims 3 Store world. Released on 12 December 2013, it was an early Christmas gift that simmers gave themselves.

Roaring Heights at night! What a sight!

ROARING HEIGHTS: First Impressions

Roaring Heights was released on 12/12/13 on the Sims 3 store and its release was met with much excitement. In this post I give you my thoughts on Roaring Heights having played the game for only a short while. A review of the world and the Boardwalk Venue will follow. This is just to showcase the world and give you an idea of what this new 20's inspired city has in store.

Skylight Studio for The Performing Arts Review

Another unique venue from the Sims 3 store team. This time it's a dance-studio-type-gym called the Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts which is so named due to the inclusion of skylights. This was a rather nice addition to the game. The venue included many CAS items, build/buy objects and TWO premium items. It seems to be an amazing venue just from looking at all these aspects but does its gameplay options and new content match up to its beauty?

Business As Usual Bistro Overview and Review

It's business time in the sims 3! Well it has been for a long time and I've had this set for a long time as well. I only chose to do a review now because I finally had the chance to play with this venue properly. Currently ranked as the 8th best selling item on the sims 3 store, this seems to be something sims players wanted.

SET SHOWCASE: Through the Spy Glass Bedroom

An Alice in Wonderland themed set. Some very unique items with amazing designs are included with this set. I usually don't enjoy the fairytale theme but I really enjoyed this set because of the weird looking objects and designs. The set is very limited though and only includes these few items:

Roaring for a New World : Information and Thoughts on Upcoming World, Roaring Heights.

Roaring Heights, a forthcoming Sims 3 world, has officially been announced by EA following hints from Simgurus Copeland and Sparkle. The world was generally met with much excitement from the simming community as we have been begging and pleading for another city world.

Introducing the beautiful Roaring Heights, an early 20th Century style Sims 3 world:

Need to know info:

  • Releasing on 12/12/2013 on the Sims 3 Store.
  • Will be available in Gold and Standard Edition.
  • Can only be purchased via simpoint bundle which includes 1900 simpoints (Gold Edition)  to spend on anything really but the Boardwalk venue is recommended (it is 1900 simpoints). The Standard Edition comes with only 100 simpoints.

Sims 3 Store Set Review: Mother Russia

The phrase "Mother Russia" became popular after the 2nd World War as an effort to restore Russia's pride, unity and patriotism. It was implemented to create positive feelings. Does this store set also create positive feelings? Is it worth it to spend 1600 (sale price) simpoints on a few roof decor and Create-A-Sim (CAS) items ? This review will answer these questions.

Store Set Showcase: Ultra Lounge

I decided to acquire the Ultra Lounge sets because when something looks like this all you can do is want it with your whole simming heart:

. As usual with these set showcases I give an overview of the set, rate the set and show you how I used it in game. Hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed using the Ultra Lounge set...

Into the Future in Pictures: Part 4 - The Utopian Future

This next part finds our characters (Rocky, Ali and the plumbots) in the Utopian Future. Personally I didn't like the idea of this happy, sunny place where everything looks too bright. As I played more I actually realised how beautiful it is.

The Sims 2 or The Sims 3? Which is better?

Hi everyone,

Today I set out on a mission determined to play The Sims 2 after not playing the game since the release of The Sims 3. I only set out to play it for a few hours but it ended up being the entire day. I had to get used to the camera controls and also get used to not pressing game speed 4 but I was hooked. After playing I asked myself the question. Was Sims 2 a better game in its time than Sims 3?

Into the Future In Pictures: Part 3 - PLUMBOTS!

Time for more screens of ITF. This time focusing on the plumbots I created so far. Enjoy!

1. ALPHA

The first, very basic, plumbot that my botbuilder sim ,Ali, created. He's not good quality and currently has the traits Friendly Functions, Limitless Learning, Sense of Humor and A.I. Angler. Alpha is part of the family and I adore him like a mother adores her first born.

2. BETA

As you can see Beta went through many transformations. I LOVE how she looks now. Sexy in a plumbot sort of way. She has the traits Handibot, Robonanny, Steel Chef , Competent Cleaner and Robotony Gardener. Very useful and I will never get rid of her. Due to constant maintenance she is now Awesome quality.

7 Set Showcase

Hi Everyone,

Here are just some screens of random sets I own and how I used them in game.

1.Aces High
RATING 4/5

I used this set in my lucky palms house because it fits with the theme. I loved this set. It came with so much and had a great theme that looked good anywhere. My favourite feature: The Let 'em fly Lamp. It is so classy and I use it literally everywhere.

2.Muse Luxury
RATING: 4/5
Another excellent set. Beautiful Greek theme. Few items included but they are all quality. Favourite Feature: The seating. Just look at it. It's pure art.

Mini Review of Grandpa's Grove

Hey Simmers,

Another store venue in the farming theme. Some will sigh and some will jump for joy. I give a mini review of the store venue highlighting the good and bad points. Enjoy!

THE GOOD:

  • It is a stunning venue. Well designed and easy to just move your sims into. I love how it looks. I have many gardener sims so it is great to have a lot with the space to garden to your heart's content.

Cooking with Paco: Breakfast Edition

Hi Simmers,

The food on the Sims 3 looks absolutely divine at times especially when you're hungry. Its a pity we don't have food synthesizers. This series "Cooking with Paco" is designed to help you make your favourite Sims 3 dishes. I promise that the links to the recipies I post here will be easy enough for a beginner chef to make (so that means no Lobster Thermidor unfortunately). I am a huge food fan and always wanted to make the food from the sims. The recipes here I take no credit for. I only find them and post links.I am not held liable for any cooking accidents that might occur.  Hope you enjoy! Over to Paco.

Hi Everybody. I am 5 star chef, Paco. I live in Lucky Palms and have a real passion for women and food. I am a hopeless romantic, flirty, great cook, hot headed and irresistible. I work at the Blooming Cactus Bistro and own the Business as Usual Bistro.

Today I will be starting with the first meal of the day, breakfast. Nobody really wants to spend time on breakfast so these recipes are relatively quick to prepare.

Into the Future in Pictures Part 2: DYSTOPIA

Hey Simmers,

My sim, Rocky, has activated the dystopian future. Its crazy so far and the constant falling meteors and random apocalyptic sounds take some getting used to. Here are some pics of DYSTOPIA.

To activate dystopia your sim needs to talk to the time traveller and he will give you missions to complete. For example, using a meteor magnet to attract meteors. This is also a cool way of attracting precious metals.
Rocky obviously excited for the Dystopian future in his evil way.

Into the Future: In pictures, Part 1.

Hey Simmers.

Here are some screens of some ITF experiences so far. Enjoy!

When it looked as if the University Llama came out of the time portal. It was an awkward moment.
Rocky chatting to Emit  after going to the future.
Ali with her "bot mode" engaged. She has the "bot fan" trait. This is my favorite feature of the game.

SET SHOWCASE: I heart the 50's

Its time to go retro before going Into the Future. I am the most proud of how I decorated with this set using the I heart the 50's dining set as well as some things from Fast Lane Stuff and the fridge (which is awesome) is from Supernatural. I love all things retro in the sims so I don't exactly know how I will feel about the futuristic theme when I get ITF.

SET SHOWCASE: India Inspirations

Just a few pictures from my set decor thing that I love doing. I may not be the best sims interior designer but I love getting the sets and seeing what can be done with them. I showcase sets that I have. I certainly don't get all of them because there is no way I could spend so much money on the store but I try to get the ones that really stand out. This one was gifted to me by my best friend who also loves sims more than her own life. If she didn't gift it to me then I probably wouldn't have got it myself because I didn't like the theme so much. I ended up loving this set so much.

Using Twallan's Traveler Mod

Hey Simmers,

This is just a short blog post on how to use the amazing (in my opinion) Twallan's Traveler mod especially if you're new to mods or are kind of scared to use them (like I was at first). Here are the instructions to get this mod:

Installing the Mod

1. Go to Installing Package Files to make sure you know how to use mods and install package files. I needed to refer to this about a million times when I first installed mods.

2. Download Twallan's Traveler Mod at http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Traveler follow the instructions carefully. Before downloading you need to select which patch your game is at (this is important) and you need to have University and World Adventures or just World Adventures installed for this to work 100%.

3. Unzip the file and place in  Documents/EA/Sims 3/Mods/Packages. Start Sims 3 and enjoy. Note: it only works after you save your game for the first time after installing the mod. Refer any problems or issues to http://nraas.wikispaces.com

Review of Grim's Ghastly Manor Venue

The Grim Reaper has been a key feature throughout The Sims series and as the Sims 3 series draws to a close our old friend Grim gets featured again. This time he has his own manor and of course its located in a graveyard 'cause that's just how he rolls.

The first thing that caught my attention when purchasing the new venue from the sims 3 store was the insane price, 1700 simpoints! (this is the sale price by the way). I recently purchased a stuff pack on sale and it was much less than that if you equate it to monetary value. I had spare simpoints lying around so I purchased it praying for the best.
