Cooking with Paco: Breakfast Edition

Hi Simmers,

The food on the Sims 3 looks absolutely divine at times especially when you're hungry. Its a pity we don't have food synthesizers. This series "Cooking with Paco" is designed to help you make your favourite Sims 3 dishes. I promise that the links to the recipies I post here will be easy enough for a beginner chef to make (so that means no Lobster Thermidor unfortunately). I am a huge food fan and always wanted to make the food from the sims. The recipes here I take no credit for. I only find them and post links.I am not held liable for any cooking accidents that might occur.  Hope you enjoy! Over to Paco.

Hi Everybody. I am 5 star chef, Paco. I live in Lucky Palms and have a real passion for women and food. I am a hopeless romantic, flirty, great cook, hot headed and irresistible. I work at the Blooming Cactus Bistro and own the Business as Usual Bistro.

Today I will be starting with the first meal of the day, breakfast. Nobody really wants to spend time on breakfast so these recipes are relatively quick to prepare.

Pancakes

From: The Sims 3 base game.
Ingredients in the Sims: Any fruit, (Life Fruit and Flame fruit included!)
Cooking Skill level in Sims: 1
Cooking skill level in real life: beginner

A classic of the Sims 3 base game and every household really. Pancakes often get burned or just don't taste right. Learn how to make the perfect pancakes here: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3374/perfect-pancakes

Paco's Tips:

  • Add fresh fruit or cream for a topping. Adding jam is good too. If you want you could add savory toppings such as bacon or tuna.
  • Do not try to flip the pancakes as seen in the Sims. It just doesn't work unless you are a professional like me ;)
  • The more you do it the better it becomes. The first few times you are bound to burn at least one of them.

Mushroom Omelette

From: The Sims 3 Supernatural
Ingredients in the Sims: Bell Pepper, Egg, White Cap Mushrooms. This recipe must be learned from a recipe book.
Cooking Skill level in Sims: 2
Cooking Skill level in real life: Beginner with a little experience making things like eggs.

Learn how to make this delicious recipe here: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Mushroom-Omelette
A relatively simple and healthy option for breakfast. The wonderful thing about this is that it can be eaten by itself or with toast or an English muffin. Its also perfect for any time of the day.

Paco's Tips:

  • This recipe is not the easiest but it can be done with some practice.
  • Make sure you use the correct mushrooms and not just any picked from a garden or anything like that!
  • It is quite a filling meal so it is perfect for those who wake up starving.
  • It takes a while to make and not as quick as pancakes. Do not attempt this when about to leave for school or anything like that.

French Toast

From: the Sims 3 base game.
Ingredients in the Sims: 2 apples, an egg. (seriously!)
Cooking Level in the sims: 9 (this is ridiculous, its a really easy recipe. I've been making it since I was 7 years old)
Cooking Level in Real Life: Beginner.
A really easy way to make a hot breakfast treat that can be served with anything. It goes really quickly. Learn how to make it here: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-French-Toast

Paco's Tips:
  • Add cinnamon, sugar, fruit, syrup, honey or jam for a sweet treat.
  • Bacon can be added for a more filling breakfast. Bacon a syrup is a good combination too (yum!)
  • Add ice cream to use this as a dessert treat.
  • Eat it hot or cold. French toast can be eaten cold too if you like.
  • It is a great way to still use yesterday's slightly stale bread. You do not need to use fresh bread.

Well that's it for the breakfast edition! Bon Appetit!
