Top 5 Sims 3 Store Worlds - in my opinion...

11 store worlds so far. Each one is different in it's own way but some are more playable and enjoyable than others. In this post I countdown the 5 best store worlds and give my thoughts on each one. Hope you enjoy!

5. Midnight Hollow... It seems a bit shocking to be on this list as many seemed to not like Midnight Hollow. A very dark and mysterious place, I found it to be the perfect world to play with all my supernatural or just super-weird sims. I like this world because it reminds me of a Tim Burton movie. I loved the Golden Ticket Toy shop and the fact that the world included The Savvy Seller's Collection. The world was also very well designed and very detailed. I grew used to the permanent darkness but I couldn't seem to play in it for very long.

4. Monte Vista... An old Italian themed world. You can almost smell the freshly baked pizza and breads from the premium content Wood Fire Oven. The world is breathtaking. The theme is well thought out and well stuck to. The famous Monty family from Sims 2 made a return in this world. The world is perfect for your farmer or nectar-making sim. With the addition of the Al Fresco Street Market, this makes for a perfect simple farming village. As I said before, the world is beautiful but it felt as if my sim was on vacation and I kept wanting to send my sim home to a normal world after a while because I ran out of things to do.

3. Sunlit Tides... Paradise! That's all I can use to describe the overall look of this world. White sands, clear blue oceans and beautiful palms. This world is an amazing place for water-loving sims and an even better place for relaxation. The standard editon comes with the sauna. The gold edition of this world gets you the massage table as well as the Serenity Retreat venue. The world is absolutely stunning but I grew tired of paradise. I wanted my sim to continue normal life with a normal job but it didn't seem to fit in.

2. Roaring Heights... The latest edition to the store world family. This world was probably the most anticipated. Everyone was excited at the prospect of another city world aside from Bridgeport and it did not disappoint. I truly love this world and still haven't stopped playing in it. Some may argue that this is the best world and I wouldn't disagree at all from an aesthetics point of view. The premium content, The Fixer-Upper Car, is a nice addition and brings all those features we've wanted in cars since the Sims 3 base game.

1. Lucky Palms... This world owns my simming heart. Something about the desert makes me want to stare at it all day. Many people underestimate this world as I once did before I got it. The world also has a retro theme. It looks to be set in the 60s. The architecture of the houses and community lots is stunning and I still feel this is world with the most attention to detail. The Lucky Simoleon Casino (with the gold edition) brings one of my favourite features to the game, gambling, and I just love the wishing well premium content. I loved this world because it was something totally different. I cannot play sims without having at least 1 save game in Lucky Palms.

World that never made it onto this list...

Riverview: This was the first Sims 3 store world and was completely free upon registration of the base game. No new content. No new features. This was just Sunset Valley in a different form. I loved the feel of the world and still use it whenever I have gardener or farming sims.

Hidden Springs: You probably expected this world to be there. It's beautifully designed and had premium content in the form of the fountain of youth but I just didn't like the world. It was boring for me. The houses feel squashed and I don't like the sims living in it (except Liam O' Dourke). It's too normal for my liking and I don't play in it anymore.

Barnacle Bay: This world was pretty bad in the views of many. It just had a beachfront and pirate themed items, sims and houses. There was no new premium content and many felt this was a waste of money. I couldn't agree more. It's not that horrifying and I do occasionally play in it but it isn't worth the amount being asked for it.

Aurora Skies: A good concept when first heard about. The premium content, the hot air balloon, seemed exciting at first but was disappointing and only lifted a short distance off the ground. I was very excited about having the auroras appear in the sky every night but the lights are barely visible and there are many design flaws with this world. The first being how the houses look incomplete and like toy houses from mapview. The second being the ugly snow problem (see the Sims 3 forums). This world disapointed  in many ways.

Dragon Valley: In my opinion the worst world. I expected so much more from this theme. I love medieval themes and dragons but this did no justice to the theme. I was looking forward to creating my own Daenerys Targaryen and having dragons but the dragons were so disappointing and only had a few features. There is not much to do in the medieval sense and normal sim cars and taxi's looked out of place. Even normal sim jobs seemed out of place. The world is beautiful from just looking at it but actually playing in it is quite annoying.

Lunar Lakes: This would probably come in 6th place. I love the whole alien theme. The world is beautiful and mystical. The only problem is that it does not accommodate normal gameplay and play also becomes quite boring after while. It's fun to play on this world as a scientist or even as an Alien.
