Skylight Studio for The Performing Arts Review

Another unique venue from the Sims 3 store team. This time it's a dance-studio-type-gym called the Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts which is so named due to the inclusion of skylights. This was a rather nice addition to the game. The venue included many CAS items, build/buy objects and TWO premium items. It seems to be an amazing venue just from looking at all these aspects but does its gameplay options and new content match up to its beauty?

The venue itself is beautiful from the inside and out. The actual gym is massive and showcases the new skylights quite effectively. The venue requires a 40X40 lot to be placed in your world. Once placed take a moment to admire its beauty. The venue really is one of the most well-designed and certainly one of the most detailed I've seen.

Besides the actual venue a few CAS and Build/buy objects are included:

All the items included with the venue.
I love the buy items and CAS items. I used them all the time in my gameplay. The female hairstyles form part of my favourite hairstyles in the game. I use everything except for the actual skylights because I don't know what to do with them usually. I am really not a big sims 3 builder and aside from the actual venue they appear nowhere else in my game.

Premium Content:

The public shower had been done already with the outdoor shower included with Sunlit Tides. It was not really a new mode of gameplay and has the exact same functionality as the outdoor shower. It is just a different design for indoor use.
The Stiff as a Board, Light as a Feather Collection includes the Light as a Feather Ballet Barre and the Stiff as as a Board Dance Floor.

The barre includes the ability to exercise or warm up.
Child sims can learn the ballet moves usually learned through attending ballet class after school.

Practice makes perfect. The guys in the background cracked me up.

The Aurora Skies citizens are great. They all joined in to my sim's ballet session.

Your sim gets better at dancing which is now a full blown skill and no longer only a hidden skill.
Taking to the dancefloor.
The Stiff as a Board Dancefloor allows your sim to perform ballet as well as other ridiculous dance styles.

The Chicken! (exclusive to the dancefloor)
MASCOT STYLE! (If university life is installed)

Club dance (if late night is installed)

The SMUSTLE, (if supernatural is installed)

The Slow Dance (if seasons is installed)
Ballet (also exclusive to the dance floor)

The dance floor provided me with more than a few laughs. Regular sim dance is already hilarious by itself. The Stiff as a board, light as a feather collection truly entertained me and there are many uses for it.

At 1900 simpoints its at the standard of what most venues cost. By comparing this venue to others of the same price, eg. The Duke of Bows Renaissance Fare, it definitely is worth it. The content included is very useful and extremely fun and the venue itself is very detailed and very well designed. The store team did a really great job.

RATING: 4.5/5
